Will I wake up from anesthesia with the breathing tube still in? PDF Print E-mail

The vast majority of people have the breathing tube removed prior to becoming aware and usually have no memory of the breathing tube being in place other than potentially having a sore throat. That said, there are some surgeries (like cardiac surgery, certain trauma cases) where you will wake up with a breathing tube in place in the intensive care unit.
