Your medical history plays a critical role in the details of your anesthetic and may determine which medications are used, the dosage of these medications, the need for specialized airway equipment, ventilator settings or even the overall type of anesthetic provided. Remember that your anesthesiologist is responsible for your medical care during the entire course of surgery. Any knowledge that your anesthesiologist can learn about you will expedite the diagnosis and treatment of any medical problems during surgery.
